3D Scanning Basics


3D scanning is more and more used to bring objects from the reality to virtual environments.

The possible applications are amazing: Virtual or augmented reality, Videogaming, 3D printing, reverse engineering and more!

3D scanning example: an head scan

During this workshop you’ll handle a 3D scanner by yourself taking an actual scan. You learn the basics of 3D scanning software and hardware, the interpretation of obtained scan data and how to transfer a 3D scan to a CAD software.
We will also have a look on how 3D scan can be modified and the software you can use to do that.

The workshop will take about three hours and will be held in English, no previous experience is required.

You need just to bring your laptop with the following free software installed:
